Quarantine Updates

Check here for the latest updates about VNC's response to the Covid-19 quarantine.

As you are aware, there are a lot of changes happening in our world because of the Coronavirus. Some of these changes will affect the way we function as a church, and we want to use this page to keep you updated on those changes.

Services at VNC

Our weekend services are currently limited to online services only on Sundays at 9 & 10:45 a.m. and 6:30 p.m. as well as Wednedays at 6:30 p.m., all at VNC Online. See below for a full schedule of VNC Online events.

With the guidelines, procedures, and advice given by Governor Holcomb and Mayor Murphy, we’ve started to prepare for "in person” services. Get your marker out and circle Sunday, June 7 on your calendar. That is the day that we will begin to meet in person for services.

We know that there are many of you who are eager to attend a service in person, while there are many who are hesitant about reopening, and still others who it will take a while before you’re comfortable being in a large group setting. We are doing all that we can to create a safe and welcoming environment for everyone. Even though our building has been closed, it hasn’t been empty. We’ve been deep cleaning, shampooing carpets, and disinfecting everything possible.

WHAT YOU CAN EXPECT ON JUNE 7:

  • If you are showing any symptoms of sickness or are in a high-risk group, please stay home and continue to watch online. Our online schedule will continue as it has (see below for the full schedule).
  • Please enter through doors 1, 2, or 3 on the east side of the building.
  • We ask that everyone continue to practice physical distancing, so please refrain from handshakes, hugs, etc.
  • Hand sanitizer will be available throughout the building.
  • Surfaces in high traffic areas will be sanitized throughout the morning.
  • Every other row of chairs will be removed in the Worship Center, and we ask that you please keep three seats apart between families.
  • No bulletins or other materials will be handed out.
  • Offering baskets will be placed at the exits, rather than passed.
  • No children’s or youth ministries will meet for now.
  • The Coffee Shop, Information Center, VNC Shop, Ministry Corner, and Guest Central will be closed at this time.
  • There will still be passionate worship.
  • There will still be creative community.
  • There will still be a message of Hope.

For those of you who are hesitant about returning, we hope that the steps we are taking will give you some peace of mind. For those who are not comfortable joining us in person yet, we look forward to having you continue to join us online!

Quarantine Connect & Serve Opportunities

The point of the Covid-19 quarantine is to isolate ourselves from one another to slow down or prevent the spread of the virus. Just because we are physically isolated from each doesn't mean we need to be socially isolated from one another. We are working on ways for the VNC Tribe to safely connect and serve others during this time.

Children's and Student Ministries

In addition to the experiences we’re creating for VNC Online, our children’s and youth staff will be releasing resources and creating points of connection on social media. Some of this content will help you engage in spiritual conversations with your kids, some of it will be fun activities you can do with your families, and others will offer you ways to connect with other members of the VNC Tribe.

Temporary Church Office Hours

As things begin to open up in the state of Indiana, we will slowly expand our office hours as time goes by. The office is now open on Mondays through Thursdays from 12 to 4 p.m. We can still be reached during off hours. You can call the church and leave a message, contact us through our website or app, or you can always send us a private message through Facebook Messenger. We want to stay connected with you, so please do not hesitate to reach out!

Online Giving

Even though we will not be meeting together for our weekend worship services, ministry is still happening at VNC. Since we are not meeting for services, this will create a financial hardship for our church. About 35% of the Tribe faithfully give online. I am asking those of you who don’t to help us keep these ministries going by giving online. I am always blown away by the generosity of the VNC Tribe, and I thank you for rallying during this difficult time.
