Our Student Ministries are weekly gatherings for sixth through twelfth grade students. These gatherings provide students with the opportunity to connect with God, with other students, and with older committed leaders who are dedicated to seeing students grow closer to Christ. We believe that you can't do life alone and that our students are at a unique time of life where they can grasp the Gospel and the impact of having Jesus in their lives.
Our Student Ministries are divided by age into two group: Middle School (Grades 6-8) and High School (Grades 9-12).
During the school year, Middle School students are encouraged to attend the Equip class at 9 a.m. in the Youth Center. The class is on a break during the summer, but will resume on Sunday, August 15. This class meets every other week, and is designed for students to be introduced to and come to understand the beliefs of Christianity. Students are given opportunities to ask questions and gain insight in a comfortable environment. There are also donuts and drinks! On the weeks Equip does not meet, students are encouraged to participate in the services in the Worship Center. This is an excellent time for students to be an active part of the VNC Tribe.
Our High School students meet every week for High School Hangout between services (at 10:15) in the Youth Foyer. This time is set aside for students to connect with friends and allows them to spend the 9 & 10:45 service times attending the worship service and serving in the church.
On Sunday nights, students in Grades 6-12 are invited to Summit Intramurals! Intramurals meets each Sunday night in the summer from 5:30-7:30, with the exception of June 13 (due to FamJam) and July 4 (due to Independence Day). Intramurals allows students to use their gifts while enjoying their time hanging out together. You'll have a chance to be creative and competitive as you play wacky games, create ways to earn spirit points, and compete in activities like Paint Wars, Lip Sync Battle, and Water Wars. This is a great way to add some fun to your summer and make a few new friends!
During the school year, students in Grades 9-12 meet in the Youth Center from 6-7:30 p.m. This time includes diving into God's Word, breaking into small groups, and playing games. High School Summit will will resume on August 22.
On Wednesday nights during the school year, students in grades 6-8 meet in the Youth Center from 6-7:30 p.m. There are games, worship, small groups, and all sorts of fun. Middle School Summit will will resume on August 18.
